Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are the advantages of using a house-call service?

There are many advantages to using At Home Animal Care. You can avoid taking time away from work or home, and your pet can avoid the stress and exposure to other animals at a veterinary hospital. In addition, you will receive a veterinary visit focused solely upon your pet, with 45 minutes allotted so that all of your questions will be answered.

2. Is a house-call visit more expensive?

No. At Home Animal Care prices its services competitively, with a house-call travel fee comparable to local hospital office exam fees. In addition, Dr. Marohn keeps the price of Interceptor and Frontline below that of leading on-line internet pharmacies, because of the risks associated with the use of on-line medication. Discounts are available for military members (active, reserve and veterans), members of animal welfare groups, multi-pet households, and for the referral of new clients. Payment is due at the time services are rendered. Checks, debit cards, check cards, and all major credit cards are accepted, including American Express and Discover.

3. Can my pet insurance be used to pay for my bill?

Yes. If you carry pet insurance, your paperwork will be completed by Dr. Marohn just as it is at a veterinary hospital, so that you can submit your bill to your insurer for reimbursement as your plan dictates.

4. What about pit bulls and feral cats?

Some veterinary clinics will not serve these animals. Dr. Marohn is willing to attempt treatment of all dog breeds, including pit bulls. The same is true for feral cats; reasonable attempts will be made to care for these animals at the request of an owner.

5. When are appointments available?

For your convenience, appointments are available seven days a week, from 9:00am to 7:00pm. Call or e-mail to request a time for your pets.
